Reconfigurations of Urban Provisioning

Andreas is at the moment working on designing his second major research project: on the restructuration of unemployment assistance and the tax system in Germany and Austria. The project combines his long-term research interests in the anthropology of the state, economic anthropology, and the moral dimensions of inequality. A central research interest of the project is to follow the awkward (re)occurence of post-industrial forms of labour and precarity with a 19th century discourse on the deserving poor. The project is part of a larger research project crafted together with Jelena Tosic at the University of Sankt Gallen termed "Europe's Un/deserving" that will include projects on Switzerland and Hungary.
